1. FOTON Unveils Systematic Globalization 3.0 Blueprint at IAA Hannover (Sept 14)
FOTON (Beiqi Foton) staged its largest-ever appearance at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover on September 14, under the theme “EASY MOVE.” The highlight was the debut of its European strategy and the global premiere of the CAVAN BEACON intelligent heavy truck — a platform compatible with both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell powertrains, targeting long-haul trunk-line logistics above 300 km.
Key proof points behind the “systematic going-global” narrative:
Jan–Aug 2026 exports: 149,000 units, +44.3% YoY — 15th consecutive year as China’s #1 commercial-vehicle exporter.
32 localized overseas manufacturing facilities across SE Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Regional Parts Distribution Centre (RDC) in Unna, Germany now operational; 18 global parts hubs, 1,200+ sales outlets, 1,500+ service points.
Multiple BEV light trucks/vans secured WVTA and VECTO EU certifications.
Milestone: global delivery of its 13-millionth vehicle (first landing in Spain).

2. Chery Smashes Monthly Export Record — First Chinese Maker Over 200,000 Units
Chery Group exported 202,533 vehicles in July 2026 (+70.1% YoY), becoming the first Chinese automaker to ship more than 200,000 units overseas in a single month — its fifth straight monthly export record. At that pace, a Chery vehicle heads abroad every ~16 seconds.
August momentum held: Chery Auto sold 262,990 units (+14% YoY), of which 187,154 were exports (71.2% of total). Group-level August: 280,128 units, exports 196,984 (+52.1% YoY), NEV sales 120,909 (+69.8% YoY). First 8 months: cumulative exports 1,343,334 units (+68.1% YoY); the group became the first Chinese maker to surpass 7 million cumulative vehicle exports. NEV exports alone hit ~70,000 in August (+124.2% YoY).

3. BYD Holds New-Energy Bus Export Crown; H1 2026 Lead Widens
BYD topped China’s new-energy bus exports in H1 2026 with 2,233 units (22.15% share) — the only maker above 2,000 units in the half, and a three-year running champion. European footprint: 7,000+ e-buses delivered cumulatively; UK zero-emission bus share ~45% (2,700+ in service). In June, BYD delivered 265 e-buses in a single batch to S?o Paulo — a Brazilian heavy-duty record. Japan: 500+ orders, >50% market share. Core tech: e-BUS Platform 3.0 + Blade Battery, passing EU/US/Japan/Korea certifications.

4. JAC (Jianghuai): Steady Export Climb, Light-Car Leadership
JAC reported Q1 2026 exports of 45,000 units, keeping its #1 rank in China’s mid-to-high-end light-truck exports. Cumulative deliveries abroad surpassed 1.7 million units across 132 countries since 1990; Belt & Road markets exceed 80% of export share. Milestone: first JAC premium light truck rolled off the Oran, Algeria KD plant on Jan 10, 2026. H1 2026 total vehicles sold 172,400 (commercial 123,300); revenue +14.31% YoY. T9 PHEV pickup earned a fresh ANCAP 5-star rating (April 2026), strengthening premium-market credentials.

5. Global E-Drive Axle Market: Scaling Toward 412 Billion USD
Industry analysis pegs the 2026 global e-drive axle market at ~USD 41.2 billion (+21.9% YoY), with demand ~15.8 million sets and a CAGR of ~18.5% through 2030. Structural shifts:
Three-in-one integrated axles = 67.5% of 2026 shipments; multi-in-one (integrating VCU/OBC) rising from 8.2% → 12.4%.
800V+ platforms: ~19.6% of shipments (~3.1M sets); oil-cooling + low-loss bearings are the new battleground.
Power-density targets: 6.5 kW/kg; system efficiency >94%; ~22% weight reduction vs. 2020.
Commercial-vehicle e-axles: global capacity ~1.98M sets in 2026 (+38.7% YoY); head utilization 82–91%.
Asia-Pacific = 58.3% of shipments (China penetration >24.7%); Europe +26.4% (driven by emissions rules); North America +19.8% (pickups/large SUVs as a distinct growth pole).

6. Axle Lightweighting & Intelligence: The “Every-Kilogram” Race
Lightweighting is now framed as a per-kilogram contest. Industry cases:
Yihe Axle: aluminum-alloy housing + stamp-weld cuts single-axle weight ~30% (load +15%); carbon-fiber differential housing −50%; new-gen front axle <180 kg (−15%) with 1M-cycle fatigue validation.
Hubei Axle (post Foton merger): lightweight wedge brake −10 kg, +30% braking; maintenance-free hub unit 800,000 km life; EMG-line/three-in-one oil-cooled flat-wire e-axle in mass production, exported via Foton to SE Asia & Middle East.
Intelligence layer: embedded sensors for thermal/vibration/load monitoring, predictive maintenance (AI warns ~30 days ahead of bearing failure), electronic differential locks (3× faster response), and energy recovery adding 8–12% range.
Modular “1+N” platforms shorten R&D cycles ~40% and cut cost ~25%, adapting to fuel/BEV/PHEV from one base housing.
